(b) The election by a member of any one of the ootions stated in this section shall be null s~nd void if the me.~er dies orior to re- tirement, and the election of a member of the option stated in para- graph (1) of subsection (a) of this section shall be null and void if the desigr~ted person dies before the me~er's retirement. (c) A mamber who has elected ar~ one of the options stated in this section ~y~ at any tLme prior to the later of the effective date of the-me~foer's retirement or the date of ,~nritten notification to the board of retirement of the me~er, revoke such an election by written notification vo the board. Sec. 26-90. Cessation of disability retirement allowance.
