~Section 5. The City Auditor is hereby authorized to transfer <br />funds for the purpose of equalization~ from any fund in-one authorized <br />bank to the s~me fund in another authorized bank, nrevided the transfer check <br />is countersigned by the City Treasurer. <br /> <br /> Section 4. Monies naid to the retired school teachers shall he <br />termed as gratuity and only as a temporary measure. If the State of <br />Virginia takes over this ~esponsibility, this gratuity will cease. <br /> <br /> S~ction 5. To the extent that any monies in the accounts of the <br />School Board derived from sources other than the State of Virginia are <br />unexpended at the end of the fiscal year 1967-1968 and thus become available <br />for use the next fiscal year, the City's share of the appropriation made <br />for education and scholarships for the next ensuing fiscal year shall be <br />decreased by a tike amount. <br /> <br /> Section 6. An emergency exists and this ordinance shall take <br />effec~ July 1, 1968. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at <br />a meeting held on June 25, 1968. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
