AN ORDINANCE TO ~2,~D SECTION 4-8 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORTSTMOL~H, 1961, ESTABLIShiNG FLORISTS AND RELATED BUSINESS ACTMTIES AS PERMITTED USES IN THE RESIDkV~IAL R-150 ZONING DISTRICT. Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That section 4-8 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, 1961, be amended and reordained to read as follows: Section 4-8. Residential R-150 District Uses. (a) Within the Residential R-150 District the following uses are allowed: Accessory uses and structures incidental to any permitted residential use, such as servant~ quarters, garages, green- houses or workshops, provided that none shall be rented or occupied for gain, that no accessory building shall be in- habited by other thsm employees of the o%~ner, lessee, or tenant of the premises; provided that no accessory building to be used for living quarters sb~ll be constructed upon a plot until the construction of the principal building been comenced. Apothecary shop operated as a retail usewitb3n~ a buildings, the primary use of ~.~ich is for a hospital, clinic, or phy- sicians' offices, provided, that said apothecary shop shall sell oniy drugs, prescription medicines (both ethical and proprietary), medicinal s~plies and appliances and pha~a- ceutial products; and provided further, that no more than fifty percent of the ground floor ~rea of such building be used for such ~othecary sh~. Automobile parking operated in commotion with permitted uses and inaccordance with the requirements of Section 3-19. Churches and other places of worship, including parish houses and Sunday school buildings. Convalescent nursir~ and foster hames conductedwithLn the principal building as an incidental home occupation. Crop and tree farthing, greeD_houses and truck gardening including the sale of products raised on the pren~'~ses, pro- vided tb~t no retail stand or ether eomeroial structure shall be located ~ereon and no ~eer~house heating pls_nt shall be operated w~ithin 20 feet of a~ny plot line.
