Sec. 3i-54~ Assessments to be reporte~ to City Treasurer~ <br /> <br /> The amount assessed against each !a~downer~ or for which he <br />is liable by ag~eement~ shall be reported as soon as practicable to the <br />city treasurer~ who s~.!l enter the same as provide ~i -for other taxes. <br /> <br />Sec. 31-55. Notice to ls_ndo~ner ~f &mount of assessment. <br /> <br /> When the assessmen~ or ~mportiomment is not fixed by agreement, <br />notice thereof~ and. of the amount so assessed or apportioned, shall be <br />given each of the then abutting o~£aers and he shall be cited thereby to <br />appear before the city assessor no~ less than yen days thereafter, at a <br />time ~-nd place to be designated therein~ uo show cause, if any he can~ <br />against such ass~=ssmen~ or apportiom~ment. <br /> <br />Sec. 31-56. Or, in <br />any case, in lieu of such ~ersonal service on the parties or their agen-ss <br />and of suc~ publication, the notice to all parties may be gzven by <br />publishing the same in some newspaper puhlished or having general circula- <br />tion in the city, once a week for vwo successive weeks~ the last publi- <br />cation to be made at least ten days before the psa.~.ties are cited to appear. <br />Any iando~<ner wishing to r~ke objections to mn assessmenv or apportionment <br />may appear in person or, by counsel and state his objections. <br /> <br />Sec. 31=57. Appeal to courv~ duty of clerk of cou~acil, etc. <br /> <br /> If his objections are overruled~ he shali~ within thirty ~ays <br />thereafter, but not afte~.~srds~ have an ~peal as of right to the <br />hustings court of the city. ¥~en an a~neat is taken~ the city assessor <br />shall ~ediately deliver to the clerk of the co~urt ~ihicb has cogrAz~nce <br />of the appeal the origir~l notice relatiu~ vo the assessmenv~ with his <br />judgment endorsed thereon ~ad the clerk shall docket the same. <br /> <br />Sec. 31-58.
