given the bond required by law, shall pay a license tax as provided <br />for general contractors, upon his gross receipts or4equivale~nt value <br />of construction, for all such buildings so constr~cted eXcep~ the <br />first $10,000 of gross receipts or equivalent value in any one <br />license tax year. No license required under this section shall be <br />tremsferred or prorated. <br /> <br />Section 27. Obstructing Sidewalks, etc.: <br /> <br /> Nothing contained in this ordinance shall be construed as <br />giving the rig~ht to any person to obstruct sidewalks, streets, or ~ <br />other public places or ~o co~r~t or maintain a nuisance. <br /> <br />Section 28. Licer~e To Designate Place of Business: <br /> <br /> Every licenSe issued by the Commissioner of the Revenue unless <br />express]~v authorized else~,~£nere or otherwise, shall designate the place <br />of such business, employment or profession as some definite place witha <br />in the city. .~lY person exercisir~ such license, or engaging in such <br />business, e~loyment or profession elsewher~ than,at such defi~te <br />place, unless expressly authorized elsewhere or otherwise, sbal! be <br />held to be without a license. <br /> <br />Section 29. Records Relating to Solicitors of Laundry, Cleero.- <br /> fang, Dyeing and Pressir~ Work: <br /> <br /> Every person engaged in the business of doing laundry or clean- <br />lng, dyeirg and pressing work, whose plant ~nere such work is done is <br />located in the City of Portsm~outh, and who has one or more solicitors <br />for such work who are not amorg his regular employees as determined by <br />his social security records, shall keep an accurate record sho~,~ning the <br />rmme.s mud addresses o_, such solicitors, tne gross s_mount of such work <br />recemved from each such solicitor, and the amount Of disco~mnts allowed <br />each such solicitor. <br /> <br /> Any person failing or refusing to keep such records shall, upon <br />conviction thereof, be fined not less than $25 nor more t.~n. ~!00.00. <br /> <br />Section 30. License Inspectors~ <br /> <br /> The Comuissio~r of the Revenue is instructed and authorized <br />to e~r~loy a License Inspector and such assistant.license inspectm~s, <br />as may be provided for by Councml. <br /> <br /> <br />
