Section 2. . Application for License; Oath: = ~ - obtain a license to ~ o "~- (a) Every person d~s~.~ ~o ~.os~c~e awl bus.ness, er~loyment: profession, or to dO mnything for which a license is required shall make application therefor ~u v,~iting to the Comr~ssioner of the Revenue. J.u which shall be stated the date of begioming smd na5ure of said business: e~mployr~nt~ profession or thing to be done. the address or place where it is proposed to be proseouted, ~d such other imx~ormation as may be required. ~ne Com~,~ssioner of the Revenue shall assess such ap- plicant, or other person of whmn a license is required~ with the license tax repaired by law, and shall issue a license si~.ed by ~ to said appli- cmut to prosecute the business, e~.,plo3mdent~ profession or thing to be done therein named, which license sb~ll not be valid or effective tuuless hud tu~.til the tax required s.hall be paid ~o the City Treasurer: as collector of City taxes ~ud levies, hud such pa2~,ent shall be shown on said license; and: if it be a business for which a license can be ~anted only on the certificate of a cours, or other officer, then such license shall no~ be valid or effective until'such certificate s,halI be obtained.
