Ai~ ORDI~2~CE A_~\~ING S~TiON 22-9 OF THE CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF PORT~MOUT~ VIRGI~\7~, 196!~ ~- <br />L~RGING T~ ~D~RGRO~ ~.~_Rff2~G DISTRICT. <br /> <br />Be it ordained by the Co~ciZ of the City of Portsraouth~ Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That section 22-9 of the Sode of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia~ 1961, <br />be amended ~nd reordained to read as follows': <br /> <br />See. 22-9. District in w~ich required. <br /> <br /> Ail that portion of the city within the following described area, is <br />hereby designated as the districv for u~nderground wires, namely: <br /> <br /> Begirm~_ng at a point at the intersection of tlne Port Warden Line <br />the south side of Lincoln Streev, thence.?~esterty along the south side of <br />LincoL~ Street, to a point lnal~y between First Street s_nd Second Street; <br />thence northerly halfway between First Street and Secor~ Street to the <br />line of the tracks of the SeaboarU. Coast Line Railroad Company; thence in <br />a westerly direction along the center line of said tracks to the center <br />Ii_ne of Interstate Route 264; thence westerly along the center line of <br />Interstate Route 264 to the center line of the right of way of the Norfolk <br />and Portsmouth Belt Line Railroad Comps~ny; thence northerly, along the center <br />line of said railroad rig~t of way to the southe_~n boundary of High Street; <br />thence~westerty alom~ the southern boundary of P~igh Street to the western <br />bour~ary of Hamilton Avenue; thence northerly alom~ the western boundary of <br />Hamilton Avenue to a po~_nt halfway between Glasgow Street and North Street; <br />thence easterly h~lf~my between Glasgow Street ar~ North Street to th~ center <br />line of t~e right of way of the Norfolk and Portsmouth Belt Line Railroad. <br />Ccmpany; thence nor~¢her!y along the center line of the said railroad right <br />of way to the Por~ Ws~den L~_ne of the Western Rranch of the Elizabet~ River; <br />thence easterly mhd southerly alor~ the ss~d Port Warden ~Line ye the point <br />of be gLrm_ing. <br /> <br /> In addition to this area, the following portions of' streets shall also <br />be considered as being within the district for undergrotu~.d wires, ,nmmely: <br />Court Street, from the center line of the tracks of the Seaboard Coast Line <br />Railroad Comps_ny to Wythe Street; Wythe Street from Court Street to Fourth <br />Street; Fourth Street from W~b~ Street to Navy Yard Gates; Washington <br />Street from the center line of the tracks of the Seaboard Coast Ldne R~ii- <br />road Compscay to Rsawrison Street. <br /> <br /> Adopted by tb~a Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meet- <br />ing held on ~'~rch 25,' i9~9. <br /> <br />Teste: --- <br /> <br />City Uterk <br /> <br /> <br />
