(c) Ail boats or watercraft under five tons burthen <br />used for business or ~leasure are hereby declared to be a separate <br />class of tangible personal property, the tax on which shall be Four <br />Dollars ($4.00) on each one h~undred dollars assessed valuation thereof. <br /> <br /> (d) All vehicles w~thout motive power, used or designed <br />to be used as mobile horaes or offices or for other means of habitation <br />by arq person are hereby declared to be a separate class of tangible <br />personal property, the tax on which shall be Four Dollars ($4.00) on <br />each one hundred dollars assessed valuation thereof. <br /> <br /> 4. The tax on machinery and tools used in a manufacturing <br />or ndning business for the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, shall be <br />Three ($3.00) Dollars on each one hundred dollars of assessed valuation <br />thereof. <br /> <br /> 5. (a) The annual taxes on real estate, shall be paid in <br />four eq~l installments: the first installment shall be paid on or <br />before September 30, 1969, the second installment shall be paid on or <br />before December 31,1969, the third installment shall be paid on or <br />before March 31, 1970, and the fourth installment shall be paid on <br />or before June 5, 1970. <br /> <br /> (b) In the event any installment of taxes on real <br />estate is not paid o.n or before the time the same is due a~ud payable <br />there shall be added thereto a penalty of five per cent of the amount <br />of such unpaid installment, and such installment shall bear int$~st <br />of one per cent per month, or fraction thereof, from the date the <br />same is due and payable until paid. <br /> <br /> (c) Should any i~tal]_ment of taxes on real estate be <br />no, paid before the property is advertised or posted as delinquent, an <br />expense charge of twenty-five cents for each installment on each par- <br />cel assessed shall be collected. <br /> <br /> 6. Any person failirg to pay the taxes on tangible personal <br />property, and machinery and tools imposed by this ordinance on or be- <br />fore Decamber 5, 1969, shall incur a penalty of five per cent on the <br />amount of said taxes. Should said taxes not be paid by December 5, <br />1969, interest at the rate of twelve per cent per ~nnum from that date <br />until paid shall likewise be added. <br /> <br /> ?.
