AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORT~MOUTH, VIRGINIA, <br />1961, BY ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION NUMBERED 11-5.1 AUTHORIZING <br />'THE CITY MANAGER TO PAY A P~WARD OF UP TO $50.00 TO PERSONS GIVING <br />'INFORMATION LEADING TO THE CONVICTION OF ANY ONE TURNING IN A FALSE <br />ALA~ri OF FIRE. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Po~smouth~ <br />~irginia, that the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1961, <br />be amended by adding thereto a new section numbered 11-5.1, such <br />new section to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 11-5.1. Reward Authorized for Information Concerning False <br /> Alarms. <br /> <br /> ~he City Manager is hereby authorized to offer a moneta~ <br />reward to any person or persons for information sufficient to pro- <br />cure conviction of the person or persons responsibl6 for turning <br />in a false alarm of fire; provided~ however, that no law enforce- <br />ment officer paid ~n whole or in part from public funds and no <br />employee of the City of Portsmouth shall be eligible to receive <br />such reward. <br /> <br /> Ail such rewards shall be paid from funds appropriated <br />for such purpose and shall not exceed ~p0.00 paid to any one per- <br />son for information leading to any one conviction. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Por~smou~h~ Vmrg_nma~ <br />at a meeting held April 28, 1970. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br /> <br />
