Any person receiving a retirement allowance under section 26-7~, 26-79 o.r 26-81 shall receive mn additional retirament allowance based on the adJustmknt in the sals=-~ies paid ~all tLme active er~gioyees of r~nk or position comparable to that wbich~was held by the =mmber at his death or retirement. Such additiorml retirement allows~nce sD~ll be the difference between the allowance to which such person would have been entitled if the member had died or retired during the preeeding fiscal year ~nd the mrount' of such allowance as determined at the actual time of death or retirement. The additional retirement allowance provided for herein shall be determined on a fisca!'year basis ordy, ~ud no such allowance-shall be paid to any person prior to the first day of July occurrLng more than one year after the date of the member's death or retirament. In no case shall any person's retirement allowmuce be reduced below the smo-~uut of benefit as origins.lly determined at tbe time of the member's death or retir~nent by~r~on of the operation of this section.
