lawful assembly after having been lawfully warned to disperse, <br />shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. <br /> <br />Sec. 19-56.7. Resisting or obstructing execution of <br /> legal process. <br /> <br /> Every person acting jointly or in combination with <br />any other person to resist or obstruct the execution of any <br />legal process shall be punished by imprisonment in jail for <br />not more than one year, or by a fine of not more than one thou- <br />sand dollars, or by both such fine and imprisonment. <br /> <br />Sec. 19-56.8. <br /> <br />Power of Governor to summon law-enforcement <br />agencies, national guard, etc., to execute <br />process or preserve the peace. <br /> <br /> If it a~pears to the Governor that the power of the <br />locality is not sufficisnt to enable the sheriff or other officer <br />to execute process delivered to him or to suppress riots and to <br />preserve the peace, he may order law-enforcement agencies, nation- <br />al guard, militia or other agencies of the State or localities <br />as may be necessary to execute such process and to preserve the <br />peace. All persons so ordered or summoned by the Governor are <br />required to attend and act. Any person who, without lawful cause, <br />refuses or neglects to obey the command, shall be guilty of a <br />misdemeanor. <br /> <br />Sec. 19-56.9. Dispersal of unlawful or riotous assemblies. <br /> <br /> When any number of persons, whether armed, or not, un- <br />lawfully or riotously are assembled, the police officials of the <br />city shall go among the persons assembled or as near to them as <br />possible and command them in the name of the State immediately <br />to disperse. If upon command the persons unlawfull,7 assembled <br />do not disperse, inu~ediately, the police may use such force as <br />is necessary to disperse them and/or to arrest those who fail <br />or refuse to disperse. To this end, the police may seek and use <br />the assistance and services of private citizens. Any private <br />citizen who bv request seeks to or assists the law-enforcement <br />officer or officers in dispersing persons unlawfully or riotously <br />assembled shall be immune from civil or criminal liability for <br />using such reasonable force as may be necessary to arrest or dis- <br />perse those persons who fail to disperse as ordered. <br /> <br />Sec. 19-56.10. Dut~' of officers dispersing rioters; killing <br /> or injuring rioters. <br /> <br /> Every endeavor must be used, both by the&police offi- <br />cers and by the officer commanding any other force, which can be <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br /> <br />
