AN ORDII~NCE TO CLOSE A PORTION OF <br />MEANDER ROAD. <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, George T. McLean Company, Incorporated, <br />has made application to vacate and close that hereinafter <br />described portion of ?~eander Road~ and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted <br />April 11, 1972, vmewers were appointed pursuant to Section <br />15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended to view <br />the hereinafter described portion of the said street and <br />~o report zn writing whether mn their opinion any, and if <br />any, what mnconvenience would result from the discontinuing <br />of the below described street; and <br /> <br /> ~{EREAS, a majority of the said viewers have reported <br />in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result <br />from closing and discontinuing said street; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virgmnla, that that portion of <br />Meander Road described as follows be and the same is hereby <br />closed and vacated as a public street; <br /> <br /> That portion of Meander Road situate in <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, more part- <br />icularly described as follows, to-wit: BE- <br />GINNING at a point on the Western right of way <br />line of Meander Road (formerly Old Western <br />Branch Road) at the point of intersection of <br />said road with the Northern property line of <br />Joshua Swain and Company, Incorporated, and <br />the Southern property line of George T. McLean <br />Company, Incorporated~ thence from said point <br />of beginning running South 88~O8' East, crossing <br />said Meander Road to the Eastern right of way <br /> <br />line; thence running <br />Eastern right of way <br />Road to its point of <br />Eastern rzght of way <br />Portsmouth Belt Line <br /> <br />Northwesterly along the <br />line of said Meander <br />intersection with the <br />line of the Norfolk- <br />Railway~ thence running <br /> <br />South along said Railway right of way to the <br />intersection of said Railway right of way and <br />the Western rmght of way of said Meander Road; <br />thence running Southeasterly along the Western <br />right-of-way of Meander Road to the point of <br />beginning <br /> <br />provided, however, that the City of Portsmouth reserves unto <br /> <br /> <br />
