AN ORDINANCE TO CLOSE A PORTION OF RACE <br />STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Construction Associates, inc. has made <br />application uo vacate and close that hereinafter described <br />port~on of Race Street; and <br /> <br /> ~!EREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted <br />April 11, 1972, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section <br />15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as' amended, to view <br />the hereinafker described portion of the said street and to <br />report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, <br />what inconvenience would result from the discontinuing of <br />the below described street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a majority of the said viewers have re- <br />ported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would <br />result from closing and discontinuing said street; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that that portion of Race <br />Street described as follows be and the same is hereby closed <br />and vacated as a public street; <br /> <br /> That portion of Race Street to be closed is <br />more particularly bounded and described as <br />follows, to-wit: BEGINNING at'the point of inter- <br />section of the Northern right of way line of Race <br />Street with the Western right of way line of <br />Frederick Boulevard; thence from said point of <br />beginning running North 86°37'45'' West 436.0 <br />feet to a point; thence running Westwardly along <br />the arc of a curve to the right, said curve <br />havinq ~ ~d~us of 406.65 feet, a distance of <br />212.!)2 f0ct: ~henc~ running North 56~37'45'' <br />West 190.49 feet; thence running in a Southeast- <br />wardly direction along the arc of a curve to <br />the right, said curve having a radius of 230.71 <br />feet, an arc distance of 170.73 feet uo a point <br />in the Southern right of way line of Race Street; <br />thence continuing in a Southeastwardly direction <br />along the Southern right of way line of Race <br />Street South 56°37'45'' East a distance of 35.30 <br />feet; thence along a curve to the left, said <br />curve having a radius of 466.65 feet, a distance <br />of 147.90 feet; thence runnlng South 86"37~45'' East <br />522.64 feet to a point of curve; thence running <br />along the arc of a curve to the left ~n a Northerly <br />direction, said curve having a radius of 10 fee~ <br /> <br /> <br />
