AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE CLASSIFICATION OF EMPLOYMENT <br />AND TO PROVIDE A C~%~PENSATI©N PLAN FOR ~4PLOYEES OF THE CITY. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />Section 1. E__mployees qlas_ sifted__. <br /> <br /> On and after July 1~ !973~ all en~ployees of the City <br />of Portsmouth shall be classified according to the kind and type <br />of work performed by them and as provided in this ordinance. <br /> <br />Section 2~ ~owco_q_q~moensation determined. <br /> <br /> The compensation of each employee shall be based on <br />his classification and shall be determined according to the <br />compensation plan hereinafter set forth and theo~ner provisions <br />of this ordinance. <br /> <br />Section 3.
