AN ORDINANCE TO CLOSE A 20 FOOT ArJ. EY BETWEEN PROGRESS AVENUE AND WEST NORFOLK ROAD (S-73-5). WHEREAS, Virginia Chemicals, Inc. of Portsmouth, Virginia, has made application to vacate and close the hereinafter described 20 foot alley between Progress Avenue and West Norfolk Road; and WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted February 27, 1973, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described alley and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result from the discontinuing of the below described alley; and WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from closing and discontinuing said alley; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that that portion of a 20 foot alley described as follows be and the same ia hereby closed and vacated as a public street; Ail that certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Vir- ginia and more particularly described according to that certain plat entitled, "Map of West Nor- folk according to Grimes and Hargrove's Survey" of record in the Office of the Clerk of the Cir- cuit Court of the City of Chesapeake, Virginia, in Map Book 10, page 43. BEGINNING at a point in the north line of West Norfolk Road (formerly Virginia Avenue), said point being 153.55 feet northwest of the northwest corner of the intersection of West Norfolk Road and Chemical Way (formerly Jefferson Street); runs thence in a northeasterly direction in a line parallel with the north line of Chemical Way 197.87 feet to a point; runs thence in a northwesterly direction in a line parallel with the west line of Progress Avenue (formerly Third Avenue) 20 feet to a point; runs thence in a southwesterly direction in a line parallel with the north line of Chemical Way 217.35 feet to a point in the north line of West Norfolk Road; runs thence in a southeasterly direction
