or share of a ticket in a lottery, or any such writing, cer- <br />tificate, bill, token or device. <br /> <br /> Any person violating the provisions of this section <br />shall be confined in jail not exceeding one year, and fined not <br />exceeding five hundred dollars; provided, that any person who <br />shall violate any of the provisionsof this section when such <br />violation shall-consist ofthe operation or conduct of a lottery <br />commonly known as the numbers game or the numbers racket shall <br />be confined in j~il not less than six months nor more than twelve <br />months and fined not more than five hundred dollars, eith or both.~ <br /> <br /> (b) This section shall not apply to any bingo game or <br />raffle conducted in accordance with the provisions of Section <br />18.!%340(b), Code of Virginia (1950). <br /> <br /> 2.
