creditable service may retire at any time then or thereafter, upon written notification to the board, made by the member or his em- pioyer~ setting forth at what time the retirement is to become effective~provided that such effective date shall be after his last ~.ay of service, but shall not be more than ninety days prior to or subsequent to the filing of such notice. (b) TEe provisions of subsection (a) of this section to the contrary notwithstanding~ any member remaining in service after his normal retirement date who attains sixty-two years of age shall be retired forthwith. (c) Any member who terminated service as an employee prior to retir~n, ent but after the attainment of age fifty and the completion of twenty years of creditable service and who has attained his normal retire~ent date may retire at any tame then or thereafte~ unaer the prov~s!ons of subsection (a) oi this sectiOn~ except that the requirement for the member to be in service shall not apply. Sectiom 26-77. Service retir~entallowance. (a) Upon retirement as provided in subsection (a) or subsection (b) of section 26-76 a me.ntber sna!_ receive an annual re~re~e~.~ a!lo~ance, payable monthly to him during his ~fet~me~ in an a~ount eGual to two percent of his average final comDensa- tlon muttlpiled Dy the nu~er of years of his credltabte serv!ce. (b) Upon retirement as provided in subsection (c) of section 26-76, a member shall receive an annual retirement allow- ance, payable monthly to him during his lifetime, in an amount ~mpu~ed a~ provl~ea for ~n subsection (a) of this section, except tha~ if the me~er has completed tess than twenty years of credit- able service~ the allowance as Co~Quted shall be reduced to a percentage of itself in accordance-with the following table: Completed.
