Section 26-65. Period of membership; cessation of membership. <br /> <br /> (a) Each employee who becomes a member of the system <br />shall continue to be a m~ber so long as he remains an employee <br />and so tong thereafter as he is entitled to future benefits under <br />any provision of the system~ Not in limitation but in amplifi- <br />cation of the foregoing, the membership'of any person in the <br />system shall cease: <br /> <br />(1) Upon his termination of service as an em- <br /> ployee, other than by retirement, before <br /> he has both attained the age of fifty and <br /> completed at least twenty years of credit- <br /> able service~ provided, however, that for <br /> purposes of this section the entrance of a <br /> me~er into authorized leave of absence shall <br /> not constitute termination of service, as an <br /> employee at the expiration of the period of <br /> authorized !eaver and the entrance of a mem- <br /> ber into the Armed Forces of the United States <br /> shall not constitute termination of service as <br /> an employee provided the member's service in <br /> such Armed Forces qualifies as creditable <br /> service under section 26-69; or <br /> <br />{2) <br /> <br />Upon the cessation of his retirement allow- <br />ance, unless in such event he immediately <br />again becomes an employee; or <br /> <br />(3) Upon his d_ann. <br /> <br /> (b) Should any person terminate service as an employee, <br />other than by retirement under the provisions of this article~ and <br />should such person at any time again become an employee, whether <br />or not his m~bership continued~ he shall for all purposes of this <br />article be considered a new employee and a new member; and any bene~ <br />fits becoming payable under the Drovislons of this article shall be <br />computed separately for each per~od of service. <br /> <br />Section 26-71. By employers° <br /> <br /> (a) The employer shall contribute annually an amount <br />equal to the sum of the "normal contribution" and the "accrued <br />liaability contribution.': The normal contribution and the accrued <br />liability contribution for any year shall be determined as per- <br />centawes of the creditable compensation of the me~ers for such <br />year, such percentages being referred to~ resoective!v, as the <br />normal contributicn rate and the accrued liab~!ity contribution <br />rate~ <br /> <br /> <br />
