Section 5. Advancement within grade. <br /> <br /> Ail increases in compensation for persons classified <br />under Section 3 he~eof shall be on an annual basis and as pro- <br />vided in this ordinance; provided~ however, such annual in- <br />creases shall be subject to the approval of the City Council <br />and shall be in accordance with such conditions and restrictions, <br />if any, as the ~ity Council may impose. <br /> <br />Section 6. ~p~ilcatton to present ~!oyees. <br /> <br /> aha =zte~ July !, 1973, all ~ployees of the City, <br />unless otherwise provided for, shall receive compensation accord- <br />ing to their classification and as provided in this ordinance. <br /> <br />Se~io~. 7. ~N_w employees~ <br /> <br /> ~=ny person employed on and after July 1, 1973~ shall <br />receive compensation accora_.ng to the classification in which <br />he is piaced~ <br /> <br />Section 8. Promotions. <br /> <br /> Upon premotion to a higher pay grade, ~he employee <br />Will be placed in the lowest step which will afford him an <br />increase in p~y that is no more than a three step advancement <br />unless authorized by the City ~ianager, but in no case shall an <br />emp!eyee be paid more than the maximum compensation provided <br />for that grade~ <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />Demotions. <br /> <br /> Any employee ~'ho is demoze~ to a lower ~raee shall <br />receive compensation acco_elna to the grade and step in %~hich <br />he is~ placed by the City Manager or the Director of Personnel° <br /> <br />Section i0. Transfers. <br /> <br /> Any employee transferred to another class of employment <br />in a higher pay gTade~ shall be deemed to have been promote~ and <br />shall be entitie~ to compensation as provided in Section 8 above, <br />and any employee transferred to another class of employment in <br />a lower pay grade, shall be deemed to have been demoted, and shall <br />be entitled to compensation as provided in Section 9 above. <br /> <br />Section 11. Reinstated en~plo_yees. <br /> <br /> Any person %~ho is reinstated within one year~ aft~e~ he ~ <br />has left en~ployinent of the City shall receive compensation a~or~- <br /> <br /> <br />
