AN ORDINANCE TO A~LEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIR- GiNiA, 1973, BY AM~ENDING SECTION 32-24 THEREOF PERTAINING TO REQUIREMENTS FOR FINAL SUBDIVISION PLATS. Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Ports- mouth, Virginia: 1. That the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- ginia, 1973t be amended by amending Section 33-24 thereqE~~ such amended section to read as follows: Section 33-24. Final subdivision plat. (a) The final subdivision plat shall be prepared by a land surveyor licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia. It shall be a clearly and legibly drawn reproducible tracing in black India Ink at a scale of one hundred feet to the inch. For subdivisions within the city, the size of the sheet shall be no smaller than 8 1/2 by 13 inches. If several sheets are necessary, they shall all be of the same size, and match points shall be clearly indicated. After the final plat has been ap- proved in accordance with the provisions of this chapterand if such final plat exceeds a maximum size of 17 by 22 inches, the subdivider shall, at his own expense~ cause the final plat to be reduced to a size not to exceed 17 by 22 inches. No final plat~ nor a copy or reduced copy thereof, will be presented for recordation to the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court if the plat is larger than 17 by 22 inches. Nothing in this sectio~ shall be construed to relieve the subdivider of the requirements in Section 33-22 of this Ordinance. (b) The final plat shall contain the certificates and statements required by section 33-3 of this chapter. On the face of the plat, a place shall be provided to receive the signatures, with dates of approval of: (1) The planning di- rector (or the deputy planning director) and (2) the city en- gineer or the assistant city engineer). The final plat shall conform to the preliminary layout as approved and shall show the following: (1) Name and location of subdivision, name and address of record owner and subdivider, date of drawing~ true north point, scale and a location map with a minimum scale of one thousand (1,000) feet to the inch.
