R~ ACCIDENTS AND C~!z~ms FOR COPIES THEREOF. <br /> <br /> BE iT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Ports- <br />mouth~ Virginma, that: <br /> <br /> ' The Code of the Cimy of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, <br />be ameneee Dy ~men~=ng Section 23-317, such amended sectlon to <br />re~a as <br /> <br />Section 23-317. <br /> <br />Reports made under certain sections cp~ <br />inspection by certain persons; copies° <br /> <br /> Any report of an accident made pursuant to sections <br />23-309, 23-3i0~ 23-31i~ 23-314 and 23-315 shall be open to ~ae <br />~nspection of any~person involved or injured in the accident or <br />as a result thereof or his attorney; provided, that the chief of <br />police shall, upon written request of any such person or attorney <br />or any authorized representative of any insurance carrier reason- <br />ably anticipating exposure to civil liability as a consequence <br />of the accident, furnish a copy cf any such report to such personi <br />attorney or representative, for which a fee of two dollars ($2.00} <br />shall be chanced for each such copy furnished; provided, however, <br />the chief o~ police may furnish an extract of such inform._ation <br />as may be contained in such report sufficient to indentify the <br />accldent~ the vehicle involved, the driver, o~_er and insurer <br />of such vehicle and such other information as he shall deem <br />pertinent upon such form as he shall deem advisab!e~ for which <br />no fee shall be charged. <br /> <br />its passage. <br /> <br />n~s ordinance sh~l± take effect from the date of <br /> <br /> Adopted by uh~ Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br />gmnza, a~ a meetmn~ ne,~m June 1i, 1974. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
