A~ ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIR- <br />GIN/A, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 37-66 THEREOF PERTAINING TO <br />RATEs OF FARE CHARGEABLE BY TAXICAB DRIVERS. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />. .'' . 1.' .That ~c~ion 37-66 Of the Code o~ the ci~ of- <br />Portsmouth, V~rglnia, -1973, be amended and'reord~ined' to read <br />as .follows: <br /> <br />Section 37-66. Rates established. <br /> <br />a.'taxicab <br />to exceed <br /> <br />No person o~ming, operating, driving or controlling <br />within the limits'of the Ci'ty Shall Charg~ ah'amount <br />the following rates of fare: <br /> <br />For the first one-~ifth mile or fraction <br />thereof ......... $ .80 <br />F~r each'~nei~if[~'~ii~'~ ~i~' <br />thereof in addition to the first one- <br />fifth mite~. ............................. 10 <br />For each piece of baggage other than <br />one handbag per passenger ............... 25 <br />For each package unless passenger <br />transports package to and from cabs <br />and holds package on lap in transit ..... 10 <br />For each foot locker or trunk ........... 50 <br />For each one minute of waiting time <br />or fraction thereof ..................... 10 <br /> <br /> If hired on an hourly basis, the rate of six dollars <br />per hour shall apply. <br /> <br />2.
