(7) Resolution for executive session. <br /> <br />(8) AdjourD=~ent. <br /> <br /> (b) The city council may, bv appropriate motion, <br />direct that any matter be placed on the age~da of a specific future <br />meeting at such point in the agenda as council may deem proper. <br /> <br />Section 2-56. Requests by citizens to address council. <br /> <br /> (a) Except as provided in subsection (b) hereof, <br />all requests from mem. bers of the general public to address city <br />council shall be submitted to the city clerk or his designee <br />prior to the calling of the meeting to order. Suet requests <br />shall be on forms prescribed by the clerk and shall include <br />the name of the speaker, his address, the name of the group or <br />organization, if any, on whose behalf b_e is speaking, the number <br />of the agenda item to which the citizen will speak and whether <br />he supports or opposes the agenda item. All requests submitted <br />in accordance with these procedures shall be honored by the chair, <br />and speakers addressing the council in accordance with this sub- <br />section shall be permitted to address council for five minutes. <br />~en two or more speakers desire to address the same subject~ <br />they shall be permitted to speak in the order in which the re- <br />quests were submitted; provided, that all speakers who support <br />an agenda item shall be heard first, and all who oppose such <br />matter shall be heard thereafter. <br /> <br /> (b) Any person who wishes to address council on <br />a subject not contained on the meeting's agenda shall submit his <br />request to speak to the city clerk or his designee. Such requests <br />shall be on forms prescribed by the clerk and shall contain all <br />information required by subsection (a) hereof, except that no <br />agenda topic or agenda nm.~lber shall be required. Requests sub- <br />mitred pursuant to this subsection shall be received until council <br />co~=~ences consideration of recommendations of ~he city manager. <br />All requests submitted in accordance with this subsection shall <br />be honored by the chair, and speakers addressihg the council in <br />accordance with this subsection shall be permitted to address <br />council for five minutes. They shall be perr~i%ted to speak as <br />the first it~ of new business fotlowinq the recommendations of <br />the city manager, and shall address council in the order in which <br />the city clerk received their requests. <br /> <br />Section 2-62.
