AN ORDINANCE ~MENDING ARTICLE I OF CbLAPTER 35 OF T_~E CODE OF THE <br />CiTY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, BY ADDING THERETO SECTION <br />35-6 PERTAINING TO A FEE FOR UTTERING ANY CHECK ?KqIC~ IS RE'lf~RNED <br />FOR INSUFFICIENT FUNDS. <br /> <br /> BE iT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Port~-~uth~ <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Article I of Chapter 35 of the Code of <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, is amended by adding Section <br />35-6 thereto which shall read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 35-6. Bad checks; fees <br /> <br /> Any person uttering, publishing or passing any check <br />to the City for taxes or any other sum d,,~ which is subsequently <br />returned becaus~ of i~sufficient funds or because there Is no <br />account or because the account has been closed, shall pay, in <br />addition to the sum due, a fee of Ten ($!0.00) doi!ars~ <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmou-n= <br />Virginia~ at a meeting held July 8~ 1975. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
