AN ORDINANCE TO AF~END THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, <br />1973, BY AMENqDING SECTION 40-70 OF SAID CODE PERTAINING TO USES <br />PERMITTED WITHIN COMMERCIAL C-1 DISTRICT. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1o That Section 40-70 of the Code of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia, 1973~ be amended and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 40-70. Commercial C-1 District Uses. <br /> <br /> (a) Within the Commercial C-1 District the following <br />uses are allowed: <br /> <br /> Accessory uses and structures clearly incidental to a <br /> permitted use and which will not create a nuisance or <br /> hazard. <br /> <br /> Agencies and offices rendering specialized services in <br /> professions, finance~ real estate and brokerage. <br /> <br /> Antiques and gift sales. <br /> <br /> Art supply sales. <br /> <br /> Automobile parking operated in conjunction with permitted <br /> uses and in accordance with the requirements of section <br /> 40-48. <br /> <br /> Banks and savings and loan associations. <br /> Barber, beauty and other personal services. <br /> Book and stationery stores. <br /> <br /> Catering establishments. <br /> <br /> Churches and places of worship, including parish houses <br /> and educational buildings. <br /> <br /> Clothing sales. <br /> <br /> Dairy bars and ice cream manufacture for retail sale on <br /> the premises only. <br /> <br /> Day nurseries and kindergartens. <br /> <br /> <br />
