AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIR- <br />GINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 6 1/2 - 28 THEREOF; PERTAINING <br />TO THE ALLOCATION OF CABLE TELEVISION CHANNEL USES. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia, that: <br /> <br /> 1. Section 6 1/2 - 28 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended and reordained to read <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Section 6 1/2 - 28. Allocation of Channel Uses. <br /> <br /> (a) ~he allocation of channels distributed over <br />the franchisee's cable system shall be as follows: <br /> <br /> Local VHF channels (in operation) required to be <br />Carried by FCC ......................................... 3 <br /> <br /> Local UHF channels (in operation) required to be <br />carried by FCC ......................................... 2 <br /> <br /> Imported VHF channels (WITG-TV) and (WDCA-TV) of <br />Washington, D. C. with WBFF-TV of Baltimore as alternate <br />or such other stations as the council may hereafter approve <br />or require ............................................. 2 <br /> <br />Public access channel as defined by FCC ...... 1 <br /> <br />Municipal access channel as defined by FCC ... 1 <br /> <br />Educational access channel as defined by FCC.. 1 <br /> <br /> Local origination (automated or otherwise as <br />defined and required in the franchise aqreement ........ <br /> <br /> Channels to be leased by franchisee subject to <br />displacement, access expansion and/or other requirements <br />of the FCC ..........................................rema i~~--inA1t <br /> <br /> (b) The allocation of Class IV channels shall <br />be directed by Council by amendment to this Chapter. <br /> <br /> (C) If for any reason further allocation or reallocation <br />is necessary, the Council may do so either upon request of the <br />franchisee or upon its own motion by amendment to this Chapter. <br /> <br /> <br />
