AN ORDINP~NCE TO AP:~END THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, BY _~2~-EF-NDING S~CTtONS 31-68 AND 31-155 THEP, EOF, PERTAINING TO kDDITIONAL RETIREMENT ALLOWANCE OF THE PORTSMOUTH SUPPLE~.2IHTAL RETIRE}dENT SYSTEM AND THE PORTSMOUTH FIRE AND POLICE RETIREMENT SYSTEM. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 12 That Portsmouth, Virginia, read as follows: Section 31-68 of the Code of the City of 1973, be amended and reordained to Section 31-68. Adjustments of Retirement Allowance. Any person receiving a retzrement allowance under Section 31-63, 31-65, 31-67, 31-70[b) or Section 31-74, shall receive an adjustment of allowance in such amount as from time to time may be approved by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia. Such allowance shall be ~determined as a percentage of the retirement allowance ~/aat would have been payable in the absence of this section and shall be subject to the same conditions of payment as are applicable to such retirement allowance, tn no case shall the operation of this section result in a reduction in the amount of any persons total amount below the amount of the retirement allowance that would have been payable in the absence of this section. 2. That Section 31-155 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended and reordained to read as follows: Section 31-155. Adjust-merits of Retirement Allowance. Any person receiving a retirement allowance under Section 31-149, 31-151, 31-153, 31-156{c) or Section 31-159 shall receive an adlustment of allowance in such amount as from time to time may be approved by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginma. Such allowance shall be determined as a percentage of the retirement allowance that would have been payable in the absence of this sectmon and shall be subject to the same conditions of payment as are applicable to such retirement allowance. In no case shall the operation of this section result mn a reduction mn the amount of any persons total benefit below the amounm of the retirement allowance that would have been payable in the absence of this section.
