AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTIONS 38-77(a),(b), AND <br />(g) AND SECTION 38-33, PERTAINING TO WATER METER RATES AND <br />CHARGES FOR SEWER SERVICE. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 38-77(a)~ (b) and (g) be <br />amended %o read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 38-77(a) . <br /> <br /> Charges for the disposal of sewage discharged <br />into the City sewage system will be based upon the water <br />consumed on the premises as measured by meters used for <br />this purpose, at the rate of Twenty-four ($0.24) cents per <br />one hundred (100) cubic feet. The minimum charge for such <br />services shall be One ($1.O0) Dollar per month. <br /> <br /> (b) Charges for the treatment of sewage by the <br />City will be based upon the water consumed on the premises as <br />measured by meters used for this purpose, and shall be aG a <br />rate of Forty-five ($0.45) cents per one hundred (100) cubic <br />feet, for customers within the City of Portsmouth. The minimum <br />monthly charge shall be One Dollar Fifty ($1.50) cents. <br />For customers outside the City of Portsmouth, the rate <br />shall be Forty-five ($0.45) cents per one hundred (100) <br />cubic feet. The minimum monthly charge shall be One Dollar <br />Fifty ($1.50) cents. <br /> <br /> (g) Bills rendered after July 1, 1976, but <br />applying in part to sewer services rendered prior to that <br />date, shall be prorated, with the new rate applying to <br />sewer services rendered after July 1, and the now-existing <br />rate applying to sewer services rendered before that date. <br /> <br /> 2. That Section 38-33 be amended to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 38-33. Meter charges. <br /> <br />The meter charges set out in the following table <br /> <br /> <br />
