15 <br />1976~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO ~2dEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, BY ~iENDING SECTION 6-13, PAP~AGP~PH ONE <br />(1) THERETO, PERTAINING TO MEMBERSHIP OF THE BOAP~ OF <br />EX~IINATION OF PLUMBERS. <br /> <br /> BE iT ORDAINED by the Counti! of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, %hat the Code of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended by amending Sectzon <br />6-13, paragraph one (1) thereto, such amended subparagraph <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 6-13. Board of Examination of Pimmbers Established. <br /> <br />(I) Board of examination of plumbers. <br /> <br /> (a) There iz hereby created a board to be <br />known as the Board of Examination of Ptm~bers ~nich shall <br />consist of five (5) voting members and one (t) ex officio <br />member. Three (3) of the voting m~ers shall be licensed <br />registered master plu~abers and two (2) voting members <br />shall be licensed 3ourneymen plmmbers. The plmmbing in- <br />spector shall be a non-voting member of the board. <br /> <br /> (b) Of the original board, one (1) master <br />plumber and one (1) journeyman plm~ber shall be appointed <br />for a term of one (1) year and one (1) master plumber and <br />one (1) journeyman plumber shall be appointed for a term <br />of two (2) years. Effective January 1, 1976 an additional <br />master plumber shall be appointed to the board for a term <br />of two (2) years. At the expiration of the respective <br />terms of such appointed members, their successors shall be <br />appointed for terms of two (2) years. The appointed <br />members shall hold office during the respective te~s and <br />until their successors are appointed. All ~acancies shall <br />be filled by appointment by the City Council for the re- <br />mainder of the unexpired term. All members of the board <br />shall serve as such without compensation and no board <br />member may serve more than three (3) terms. <br /> <br /> (c) The Board of Examination of Plmmbers <br />shall elect one of its merabers chairman, and shall have all <br />the powers and be subject to all the restrictions provided <br />by law and shall have such other powers and perform such <br />other duties as may be designated from time to time by <br />the City Council and/or the State Board of Housing. The <br />plumbing znspector shall be the Secretary of the board. <br /> <br /> (d) The board shall meet at such times <br />as may be fixed by the board~ notice of which shall be <br />given to all applicants at least three (3) days before <br /> <br /> <br />
