AN OP~INANCE CLOSING THE FOLLOWING STREETS: PARCEL t, A <br />PORTION OF A~STRONG STREET; BEGINNING ON THE WEST SIDE <br />OF AP~STRONG STREET APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET NORTH OF ITS <br />INTERSECTION WITH LECKIE STREET; PARCEL II, A PORTION OF <br />FLORIDA AVENUE WHICH IS BOUNDED ON THE NORTH BY THE <br />SOUTHERN RIGHT-OF-WAY OF HIGH STREET AND ON THE SOUTH BY <br />A LINE WHICH IS 113 FEET, MORE OR LESS, SOUTH OF THE <br />SOUTHERN RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF HIGH STREET. (Su76-14 & 15). <br /> <br /> ?~tEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment And Housing <br />Authority has made application to vacate~ close and dis- <br />continue Parcels I and II, the hereinafter described <br />portions of such streets; and <br /> <br /> ~'~EREAS, by Resolution of this Council adopted <br />August 10, 1976, viewers were appointed pursuant to <br />Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia~ 1950~ as amended, to <br />view the hereinafter described portions of said street, <br />and to report in writing whether in their opinion, any, <br />and if any~ %That inconvenience would result from dis- <br />continuing the below described streets; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in <br />writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would <br />result from the closing and discontinuing of said streets. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council <br />of the City of Portsmouth~ Virginia, that those portions <br />of said streets hereinafter described~ be closed and <br />vacated as public streets: <br /> <br />Ai~STRONG STREET: <br /> <br />Ail that certain parcel of land, lying <br />and being in the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia~ and comprising that portion <br />of Armstrong Street~ beginning on the <br />West side approximately 300 feet north <br />of its intersection with Leckie Street~ <br />thence west 61.31 feet to a point; <br />thence north 17.61 feet to a point; <br />thence east 47.02 feet to a point; <br />thence southeast 73.83 feet to the <br />point of origin° <br /> <br />FLORIDA AVENUE: <br /> <br />Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, <br />lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, and comprising that portion <br />of Florida Avenue which is bounded on <br />the north by the southern right of way <br />line of High Street~ and on the south <br /> <br /> <br />
