(e) The driver of any vehicle traveling at an un- lawful rate of speed shall forfeit any right of way which he might otherwmse have hereunder. Section 23-!47 (a) . (a) Upon the approach of any vehicle listed in subsection (a) of Section 23-4 giv!ng audible signal by slren~ exhaust whistle, or air horn designed to gmve auto- matically intermittent signals and displaying a flashing, blinking or alternating red light, the driver of every other vehicle shall i~mediately drive the same to a position as near as possible and parallel to the righthand edge or curb~ clear of any intersection of highways, and shall stop and re- main in such position unless otherwise directed by a Police or Traffic Officer until such vehicle shall have passed. Section 23-204(12). In a space reserved for the handicapped at a pri- vately owned shopping center or business office parking iot~ provided~ however, that 'the driver of the vehicle is non- handicapped. Section 23-33i(a). When crossing highways or streets, pedestrians shall not carelessly or maliciously interfere with the order- ly passage of vehicles. They shall cross wherever possible only at intersections or marked crosswalks. Where any inter- sections of highways or streets contain no marked crosswalks pedestrians shall not be~guilty of negligence as a matter of law for crossing at any such intersection or between inter- sections when crossing by the most direct route. Section 23-332[a). The driver of any vehicle upon a highway or street shall yield ~he righ~ of way tca pedestrian crossing such highway or street within any clearly marked crosswalk whether at mid-block or at the end of any block~ or any regular pedes- trian crossing included in the prolongation of the lateral boundary lines of the adjacent sidewalk a~ the end of a block~ or at any intersection when the driver is approaching on a highway or street where the legal maximum speed does not ex- ceed thirty-five miles per hour except at intezsectmons or crosswalks where ~he movement of traffic is being regulated -3-
