(e) The driver of any vehicle traveling at an un- <br />lawful rate of speed shall forfeit any right of way which he <br />might otherwmse have hereunder. <br /> <br />Section 23-!47 (a) . <br /> <br /> (a) Upon the approach of any vehicle listed in <br />subsection (a) of Section 23-4 giv!ng audible signal by <br />slren~ exhaust whistle, or air horn designed to gmve auto- <br />matically intermittent signals and displaying a flashing, <br />blinking or alternating red light, the driver of every other <br />vehicle shall i~mediately drive the same to a position as <br />near as possible and parallel to the righthand edge or curb~ <br />clear of any intersection of highways, and shall stop and re- <br />main in such position unless otherwise directed by a Police <br />or Traffic Officer until such vehicle shall have passed. <br /> <br />Section 23-204(12). <br /> <br /> In a space reserved for the handicapped at a pri- <br />vately owned shopping center or business office parking iot~ <br />provided~ however, that 'the driver of the vehicle is non- <br />handicapped. <br /> <br />Section 23-33i(a). <br /> <br /> When crossing highways or streets, pedestrians <br />shall not carelessly or maliciously interfere with the order- <br />ly passage of vehicles. They shall cross wherever possible <br />only at intersections or marked crosswalks. Where any inter- <br />sections of highways or streets contain no marked crosswalks <br />pedestrians shall not be~guilty of negligence as a matter of <br />law for crossing at any such intersection or between inter- <br />sections when crossing by the most direct route. <br /> <br />Section 23-332[a). <br /> <br /> The driver of any vehicle upon a highway or street <br />shall yield ~he righ~ of way tca pedestrian crossing such <br />highway or street within any clearly marked crosswalk whether <br />at mid-block or at the end of any block~ or any regular pedes- <br />trian crossing included in the prolongation of the lateral <br />boundary lines of the adjacent sidewalk a~ the end of a block~ <br />or at any intersection when the driver is approaching on a <br />highway or street where the legal maximum speed does not ex- <br />ceed thirty-five miles per hour except at intezsectmons or <br />crosswalks where ~he movement of traffic is being regulated <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br /> <br />
