AN ORDINAA~E CLOSING THE FOLI~ING IALZE: A PORTION OF UNNAMED LANE. WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment And Housing Authority has made application to vacate and close and discontinue the hereinafter described portion of a certaJ_n street; and WHEREAS, by a Resolution of this Council adopted April 11, 1978, viewers were appointed pursusnt to Section 15.1-1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portion of said street and to report in writing whether in ~_heir opinion any, and if any, wha~ inconvenience would result from discontinuing the below de- scribed street; and WHEREAS.. ~he said vie~rs have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result fr~m the closing and discontinuing of said street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAIL~D by the-Council of the City of Ports- mouth, Virginia, ~hat ~hat portion of said street hereinafter described be closed and vacated as a public street. Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, lying and being in the City of Portsnouth, Virgi~/a and ~ prismng that portion of sn unnamed land~ as shown on a plat entitled: "Plat Shewing Land To Be Closed, Ports- mouth, Virginia For Mt. Hermon Conservation & Redevelop- meat Project, VA. R-69", prepared by E. Stuart Ball & Associates, Ltd., Surveyors and Planners, Portsmouth, Virginia, dated J~luary 3, 1978, a copy of which is at%ached hereto. ALSO DESCRIBED AS; Beginning 143 feat west from the northwest corner of Douglas A~enue end Queen Street (now closed); thence north 224.11 feet; thence west 9 feet; thence south 223.43 feet; th=~nce east 9 feat to the point of origin.
