AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THE FOLLOWING ALLEY: 12-1/2 FOOT ALLEY EXTENDING FROM THE NORTH AVENUE TO THE SOUTH SIDE OF EDISON AVENUE. A PORTION OF A SIDE OF FRANKLIN WHEREAS, Robert C. and Ruth Jacobs and others have made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described portion of a certain alley; and WHEREAS, by a Resolution of this Council adopted Sept- ember !2~ 1978, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950r as amended, to view the hereinafter described portion of said alley, and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result from discontinuing the below described alley; and WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion, no inconvenience would result from the closing and discontinuing of said alley. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that that portion of said alley hereinafter described be closed and vacated as a public alley: 12-1/2 FOOT ALLEY That certain 12-1/2 foot alley extend- ing from the north side of Fzanklin Avenue to the south side of Edison Avenue as shown on the plat of Highland Park recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake, in Map Book 16, at page 61. The said alley being further de- scribed as follows, to-wit: Beginning at a point on the north side of Franklin Avenue 110 feet east of the north- east intersection of Franklin Avenue and Deep Creek Boulevard and running thence in a north- erly direction to the south side of Edison Avenue at a point 180 feet east of the south east intersection of Edison Avenue in Deep Creek Boulevard, said property is bounded on the east by lots 25 through 30 inclusive and on the east by lots 23 and 24 in Block E on the aforementioned plat.
