1978-121 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH~ <br />VIRGINIA, BY ~V~ENDING SECTION 17-17 THEREOF PERTAINING TO <br />THE TERM OF "DWELLING~ ~TEMPORARY HOUSING'~ and "MOBILE <br />HOMES~' IN SECTION 201 OF THE SOUTHERN STANDARD HOUSING CODE, <br />1969 EDITION ~ <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED that Section <br />City of Portsmouth be reordained <br /> <br />Section 17-17~ Same Definitions~ <br /> <br /> ?~i! of the Code of <br />to read as follows.: <br /> <br /> (a) Where the words "applicable governing body" are <br />~sed in the Southern Standard Housing Code, 1969, Edition, <br />hereby adopted~ they shall be held to mean the City of <br />Portsmouth~ Virginia. <br /> <br /> (b) Where the words ~'building <br />the Southern Standard Housing Code~ <br />adopted~ except Section IO1 thereo~, <br />mean the director of public health, <br />to enforce said code. <br /> <br />official" are used in <br />t969~ Edition, hereby <br />they shall be held to <br />who is hereby designated <br /> <br /> (c} The term ~'dwelling" in Section 201 of ~he Southern <br />Standard Housing Code, 1969, Edition~ shall be amended to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br /> DWELLING shall mean any building structure or mobile <br />home which is wholly or partly used om intended to be ~sed <br />for living or sleeping by human occupancy whether or not <br />such building is occupied or vacant: Provided that temporary <br />housing as hereinafter defined shall not be regarded as a <br />dwelling, nor shall trailers be included as a dwelling. <br /> <br /> (d) That the term "Temporary Housing" in Section 201 <br />of the Southern Standard Housing Code, 1969, Edition, shall <br />be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> TEMPORARY HOUSING shall mean any tent, cs/~per trailer, <br />or other structure used for human shelter which is designed <br />to be transportable and which is not attached to the ground, <br />to another structure, or to any utilities system on the same <br />premises for more than thirty (30) consecutive days. <br /> <br /> (e) That the term "mobile home" shall be added to <br />Section 201 of the Southern Standard Housing Code, 1969, <br />Edition, to read as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />
