AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THE FOLLOWING: A PORTION OF FAIRFAX <br />AVENUE BETWEEN ~qALNUT AVENUE AND RIC~O~ AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, George A. and ?~artha L. Hunt have made application <br />to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter-described <br />portion of Fairfax Avenue; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by a Resolution of this Council adopted February <br />13, 1979, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter- <br />described portion of said avenue and to report in writing whether <br />in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would <br />result from discontinuing the below described avenue; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that <br />in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the <br />closing and discontinuing of said avenue. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that that portion of said <br />avenue hereinafter-described be closed and vacated as a <br />public avenue. <br /> <br />FAIRFAX AVENUE <br /> <br /> Between Walnut Avenue and Richmond <br />Avenue, more particularly described as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> Ail that portion of Fairfax Avenue <br />in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, from <br />the West right-of-way line of Walnut Ave- <br />nue northwesterly for a distance of approx- <br />imately 115 feet. <br /> <br /> This Ordinance shall become effective from the date of <br />its adoption. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held March 27, 1979. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
