AN ORDIbD2q~ CLOSIN~G THE FOLLOWING ST~'S: A 15 FOOT AI~EY ON UIHE SOL~i~H <br />SIDE OF C(~{5~RCE STREET; A 15 FOOT ALLEY BE?~NP~ CC~.~CE S~ ~2~ID <br />MEANDER ROAD; A PORTION OF MARYI2kND AVENUE: A PORTION OF SPP~A COURT. <br /> <br /> WHERFD~S, the Portsmouth Port and /_ndustrial Cormnission has made <br />app/ication to vacate and close and discontinue the hereinafter-described <br />portior~ of certain streets; and <br /> <br /> ~rH~qEA~S, by a Resolution of this Council adopted October 23, 1979, <br />viewers were appointed pursuan~ to ~15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, <br />as amended, to view the hereinafter-described portions of said stlreets <br />and to report in %.~iting whether in their opinion anlz, and if any, what <br />inconvenience would result from discontinuing the herein-described streets; <br />and <br /> <br /> tFrIEREAS, said viewers have reported in w~iting that in ~heir opinion <br />no inconvenience would result from the closing and disconfinuing of said <br />streets. <br /> <br /> Arid, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAIIYED by the Council of the City of P_orts- <br />~ouhb, Virginia~ that those portions of the said streets hereinafter <br />described are to be closed and vacated as public streets. <br /> <br />PARCEL I <br /> <br />That certain 15 foot alley %~hich is de. scribed <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> BEGI~qlNG on the sou~da right of way line of <br />Commerce Street 140 feet west of its interse~ion <br />wi~/q C~hautauqn~a Avenue; ~hence runnin~ south 662 <br />feet, ~ore or less, to a point; thence rmnnim_g <br />sou~i~esterly 15 feet, more or less, to a pint; <br />thenee running northerly 665 feet, more or less, <br />to a t~Lnt on the southern right of way line of <br />Coranerce Street; ~/lence running eastwardly along <br />the said right of way line 15 feet, more or less, <br />to the said point of beginning. Also, %-hat portion <br />of a said alley which is described as begirkning <br />on the northern right of way line of Co~eerce Street <br />140 feet west of its intersection with S Avenue~ <br />thence running northerly 254 feet, more or less, <br />%o the termination of said alley; thence rumm~ng <br />wes% 15 feet, ~ore or less, to a point; thence <br />~ming so=~h z~4.5 feet to a point on the nos+la- <br />ern right of v~ay line Of Cormerce Street; and thence <br />r~aning east along the said right of %~y line 15 <br />feet to the said point of beginning. <br /> <br /> <br />
