AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THE FOLLOWING LA/~E: A PORTION OF <br />UNNAMED LANE. <br /> <br /> WHEREASt the Portsmouth Redevelopment And Housing <br />Authority has made application to vacate, close and dis- <br />continue the hereinafter-described portion of a certain <br />lane; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by a Resolution of this Council adopted <br />December 12, 1978, viewers were appointed pursuant to <br />Section 15.1-364, Co~e of Virginia~ 1950, as amende~, <br />to view the hereinafter-described portio~ of said lane <br />and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, <br />and if any, what inconvenience would result from dis- <br />continuing the below described lane; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported <br />that in their opinion no inconvenience would <br />the closing and discontinuing of said lane. <br /> <br />in writing <br />result from <br /> <br /> NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that that portion of said lane <br />hereinafter-described be closed and vacated as a public lane. <br /> <br />UNNAMED LANE <br /> <br /> Ail that certain parcel of land, lying <br />and being in the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br />ginia, and comprising that portion of an <br />Unnamed Lane between Elm Avenue and Arm- <br />strong Street, and is more particularly <br />described as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br />PARCEL A <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point on the west <br />side of Elm Avenue three hundred thirty- <br />five and four tenths (335~4) feet southerly <br />from the southwest corner of Spratley <br />Street and Elm Avenue; thence west and <br />parallel with Spratley Street one hundred <br />forty-five (145) feet; thence south and <br />parallel with Elm Avenue eight and nine <br />tenths (8.9) feet to the southern line of <br />lot 180 on the plan of the Parkview Land <br />Company's purchase recorded in the Clerk's <br />Office of the Circuit Court of the City <br />of Chesapeake, Virginia, in Map Book 3 at <br />pages 14 and 15; thence east along the said <br /> <br /> <br />
