AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THE FOLLOWING ALLEY~ UNNA~ED ALLEY ~ A PORTION OF WHEREAS, Roger L. Kirkpatrick, et al has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter-described portion of a certain alley; and WHEREAS, by a Resolution of this Council adopted December 12, 1978, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter-described portion of said alley, and to report in writing whether in their opinionr any, and if any, what inconvenience would result from dis- continuing the below-described alle~ arm WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported mn writing that in their opinion, no inconvenience would resnlt from the closing and discontinuing of said alley~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that that portion of said alley hereinafter-described be closed and vacated as a p~olic alley. UNNAMED ALLEY Beginning on the west side of Decatur Street approximately 70 feet south from its intersection with Channing Avenue; thence west approxi- mately 115 feet to a point; thence south approximately 280 feet to a point; thence east approximately 20 feet; thence north approximately 270 feet; thence east approximately 95 feet to the west right-of-way line of Decatur Street; thence north along said right- of-way approximately 15 feet to the point of origin° Also, beginning on the west side of Decatur Street approximately 75 feet north from its intersection with Dahlgren Ave- nue; thence west approximately 254 feet to the east right-of-way line of Cushing Street; thence north along said right-of way approximately 15 feet; thence east approximately 245 feet to the west right- of-way line of Decatur Street; thence south along said right-of-way approximately 15 feet to the point of origin.
