AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 6-8Ii18.31) AND SECTION <br />6-8(118.31) (a) (4) PERTAINING TO BUILDING PE~IT FEES FOR <br />GROUP H-HIGH HAZARD CONSTRUCTION AND IMPROVEMENTS° <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virgmnia, that Section 6-8(118.31) and Section 6-8(118o31) (&) <br />(4) of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virgmnia, 1973, <br />be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 6-8(118.31). <br /> <br />Schedule of Permit Fees. <br /> <br /> The fees for all permits required by the Code shall be <br />paid at the time the permit is issued with the valuation in <br />those instances of Group H-High Hazard and Group T-Temporary <br />and Miscellaneous and Alterations, Installations and Repairs <br />and such other Categories as the Bnilding Official shall <br />designate, to be determined by an appraisal, prepared by a <br />duly authorized and licensed Engineer or Architect or other <br />party approved by the Building Official, and provided by the' <br />applicant for said building permit or permits at the time <br />of making application for same and at the applicant's ex- <br />pense, with the provision that should the Building Official <br />determine that another appraisal be submitted~ same will <br />be obtained by the Building~Official with the expense of <br />said additional appraisal to be paid by the applicant for <br />the building permit and paid for prior to the issuance of <br />said permit or permits mn the event that the additional <br />appraisal exceeds the one submitted by the applicant by <br />ten percent (10%) of valuation in accordance with the <br />following schedule: <br /> <br />Section 6-8(118.31)(a)(4). Group H-High Housing. <br /> <br /> (a) A flat fee of One Thousand Dollars ($1,OOO.) shall <br />be paid as a permit fee for the first One Hundred Thousand <br />Dollars ($100,OOO.) of valuation; <br /> <br /> (b) For each One Thousand Dollars ($1,OOO.) or part <br />thereof in[excess of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,OO0.), <br />a permit f~e of One Dollar ($1.OO) per One Thousand D?tlars <br />($1,OOO.) ~r part thereof shall be assessed and paid in <br />addition t~ the flat fee of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.) <br />on the first One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1OO,O00.') of <br />evaluation. <br /> Adopted by the Council of %he City of Portsmouth, Virginia~ <br />at a meeting held June 26, 1979. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
