AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF GOTHIC STREET <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment And Housing <br />Authority made application to.vacate, close and discontinue <br />a certain portion of Gothic Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by a resolution of this Council adopted March <br />tl, 1980, viewers were appointed pursuant to ~t5.1-364, Code <br />of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter- <br />described portion of said street and to report in writing <br />whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience <br />would result from discontinuing said street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the viewers have reported in writing that in <br />their opinion no inconvenience would result from the closing <br />and discontinuing of said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter-described <br />portion of Gothic Street be closed and vacated as a public <br />street. <br /> <br />GOTHIC STREET <br /> <br /> That certain portion of Gothic Street <br />lying between the northern side of Belle <br />Street and the southern side of Watson Street. <br />(S-80-2) <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the same is hereby closed <br />and vacated as a public street and that the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, reserves unto itself a perpetual easement, right and <br />privilege of right-of-way to install, maintain, operate and <br />replace gas mains, sewer mains, sewer drains, sanitary sewers, <br />storm drains, water mains and laterals, electric power lines <br />and telephone lines within, over, under and across those por- <br />tions of the hereinabove-named street. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held May 13, 1980. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
