AN ORD17qANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, <br />BY _~MENDING SECTIOA~ 40-121 (4.1; 5.2; 5.3; and 5.4), PERT~TNING TO OFF- <br />STR~±' A~BILE PARKING IN DO~fOWN D-1 DISTRICT. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAN/qED by the Council Of the City of Porksmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 40-121 (4.1; 5.2; 5.3 and 5.4) be amended to read <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Section 40-121. Downtown D-1 District Dimensional Requirements and Off- <br /> hour Parking Reouirements. <br /> <br />(4.1) Off-street automobile p~rking. <br /> <br />Use of Buildings: <br /> <br />Minimum Number of Parking ~Spaces <br /> <br />Tc~nhouse, apart- <br /> ments and multi- <br /> family structure <br /> containing more <br /> than (4) dwelling <br /> units <br /> <br />1.25 spaces for ~ unit <br /> <br />Ho~mls, motels <br /> <br />1 space for each of first 20 <br /> sleeping rooms, plus 1 space <br /> for each 4 rooms over 20 <br /> <br />Office or profes- <br /> sional buildiDg <br /> <br />Perking in the ration of t <br /> space for each 200 square <br /> feat of office space ~n <br /> excess of one thousand (1,000) <br /> sq. ft. Such parking space <br /> shall be reserved and main- <br /> tained in a public or private <br /> _r~rking faciliE~y within 1,250 <br /> feet of the site. <br /> <br />General retail <br /> business, cor~e~- <br /> cial ~ndpersonal <br /> service establish- <br /> ments <br /> <br />Parking in the ratio of at teas% <br /> 2.5 spaces per 1,000 square feat <br /> of usable floor space in excess <br /> of two thousand (2,000) sq. ft. <br /> exclusive of storage or stock <br /> area. Such parkirg spaeas shall <br /> be reserved and rm~in%ained in a <br /> public or private parking faci- <br /> lity within 1,250 feat of the <br /> site. <br /> <br />(5.2) Off-street loading space shall be sspptied as required in <br /> Section 40-49. <br /> <br /> <br />
