AN ORDINANCE-CLOSING A PORTION OF ARMSTR©NG STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />Addison, III, <br />continue the <br />and <br /> <br />Adwig Corporation, through its attorney, H. Lee <br />has made application to vacate, close and dis- <br />hereinafter-described portion of Armstrong Street; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution'of this Council adopted on November <br />24, 1981, viewers were appointed pursuant to ~15.1-364, Code of <br />Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter-described <br />portions of Armstrong Street and to report in writing whether <br />in their oplnion any, and if any, what inconvenience would re- <br />sult from discontinuing said street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that <br />in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the closing <br />and discontinuing of said streets provided that an agreement <br />has been reached between the adjacent property owners for the <br />preservation of access to the property now or formerly owned <br />by Portsmouth Paper Company; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS,'said agreement has been made by the adjacent <br />property owners to provide such access. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter-described <br />portion of Armstrong Street be closed and vacated as a public <br />street. <br /> <br />ARMSTRONG STREET <br /> <br /> Ail that portzon of Armstrong Street lying <br />between the south line of High Street and the <br />northern line of the Seaboard Airline Railroad <br />Company. (S-81-8) <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the City of Portsmouth hereby <br />reserves unto itself a perpetual easement, right and privilege <br />to install, operate and maintain storm drainage lines within, <br />over, under and across the western twenty ~20') feet of the <br />hereinabove-named s~ree~. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />meeting held January 26, 1982. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
