AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 6-9 THEREOF, PERTAINING TO FIRE LIMITS IN THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH PURSUANT TO SECTION 301.2 OF BASIC BUILDING CODE. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council'of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia that Section 6-9 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973r be amended, to read as follows: Section 6-9. Section 301.2 of Basic Building Code amended. 301.2 FIRE LIMITS: The fire limits shall comprise the areas containing congested business, commercial manufacturing and industrial uses or inwhich such uses are 'developing. The limits of such area are described as follows-: Beginning at the intersection of the center- line of Queen Street (projected) with the pierhead line in the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River as established by the U. S. Army Engineers; thence southerly along said pierhead line as it meanders along the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River to its intersection with the centerline of Henry Street (projected); 'thence westerly along said centerllne to the c~Uterline of First Street; thence northerly along said centerline to its intersection with the centerline 'of Crawford Street; thence northerly along said centerline to the centerline of County Street; thence west along Said centerline to the centerline of property belonging to the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad~ thence south%vest along said railroad property 275' to a point; thence southerly along the west property line of the Ida Barbour Public Housing Project to the north right- of-way of Clifford Street; thence west along said right-of-way 150' + and thence 'running west along the north boundary--of the Swanson Homes Public Housing Project 800' +; thence south 300' +; thence southwest 115 +; thence west 370'.+ a~ong t--he rear property line ~f properties fronting Rose Avenue; thence southerly to the south right-of-way line of Interstate Highway 264; thence westerly along said right-of-way to its intersection with the center- line of property belonging to Norfolk and Portsmouth Belt Line Railroad; thence north along said railroad property to its intersection with the centerline of High Street; thence east along said centerline to the centerline %f th~ Martin Luther King Expressway; thence north along said centerline for 106'; thence east along said line to its intersection with the centerline of Jamestown Avenue; thence; northerly
