AN ORDINANCE TO ~-END CHAPTER 33 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, BY ADDING THERETO SECTION 33-56.1 <br />PERTAINING TO STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY DEDICATION. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that Chapter 33 of the Code of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended by adding thereto Section <br />33-56.1 to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 33-56.1. Additional Right-of-Way Required. <br /> <br /> Wiqh any subdivision of-land along existing streets, <br />if it is determined by the Planning Commission and City <br />Council that the proposed development will substantially <br />generate a need for street widening, it shall be required <br />that the subdivision plat dedicate sufficient additional <br />~right-of-way along the property fronting on said street <br />or streets to provide for such street wide,lng. <br /> <br /> Adopted by ~qe Council of the City'of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held May 24, 1983. <br /> <br />Teste: "' <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
