Section 5. Monies paid to the retired school teachers shall <br />be termed as gratuity and only as a temporary measure. If <br />the State of~ir~inia takes ove~ this responsibility,~this <br />gratuity will cease. <br /> <br />Section 6. To the extent that any monies in the accounts <br />of the School Board derived from sources otker than the State <br />of Virginia are unexpended at the end of the fiscal year 1983- <br />84, and, thus, become available for use the next fiscal year, <br />the City's share of the appropriation made for education and <br />scholarships for the next ensuing year shall be decreased by <br />a like amount. <br /> <br />Section 7. The authorization granted the City Manager to <br />commit annually the receipts due the City from the Unification <br />Contract entered into by Portsmouth Port and Ind%~strial <br />Co~m~ission, the City of Portsmcuth, and Virginis Port Authority, <br />is hereby revoked. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a Meeting held May 16, 1983. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
