h~.tEREAS, the Court of Hustings for the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, has an extremely heavy case toadl mud <br /> <br /> h~EREAS, the Judicial Council of Virglnia has recomauended <br />to the General Assembly of Virginia that an additional judgeship <br />created for said Court. <br /> <br /> NOel THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that it concurs in the recommendation of the <br />Judicial Council of Virginia~ relative to the creation of an additional <br />judgeship for the Court of Hustings for the City of Portsmouth, Virginia~ <br />and strongly urges that such additional judgeship be created by the <br />General Assembly of Virginia at its 1964 Session, with the proviso that <br />such judgeship become effective on January 1, 1965; and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOL~D~ That a copy of this resolution be <br />forwarded to the Honorable Mr~ Justice Lawrence We i'Anson of the <br />Supreme Court of Appeals of Virginia and a member of The Judicial Cotmcit, <br />the Honorable William B. Spong, Jr., State Senator, and the Honorable <br />Wit!ard J. b~oay mhd the Honorable Donald H. Sandie, Members of the House <br />of Delegates. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at <br />a meeting held November 12~ 1963. <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
