i~' A RESOLUTIOM RECO~EDING THE <br /> ~ ' R~ OF ~ "SUNDAY BLUE LAWS~ '~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, scme areas of Virginia are strictly enforcing ..the <br /> <br />~Sunday Blue Laws" whiIe others are not; and · ~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there are various interpretations of these laws <br /> <br />throughout the state~ and ~ : <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these variances in enforcement and interpretation <br />cause big disadvantages and conO~sion to merchants and citize~ns. <br /> <br /> NOW, ~, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of tie City <br />of Portsmouth, Vi~, that it hereby recommends bhat the "Sunday <br />Blue Laws" of Virginia be repealed in their entireb~ on the ..grounds <br />~uey are not enforceable in fairness to all the citizens of Virginia. <br /> <br /> ~ BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy ~of this resolution be <br />forwarded to each Delegate and.
