RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE STATE AIR POLLO~i~ION <br />CONTROL BOARD TO CREATE A LOCAL AIR POLLi~ION <br />CONTROL DIS%RICT IN THE H~vIPTON ROADS AREA <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ the several political subdivisions of the Hampton <br />Roads area share problems of air pollution; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 10-17.19 of the Code of Virgipia, 1950, as <br />amended, ~rovides for the establishment of local air pollution con6roI <br />districts con,prising ~wo or more cities or counties, or any combination <br />or parts thereof, upon request of the respective governing bodies. <br /> <br /> NOW, THER~vORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the State Air Pollution'Con~rol Board <br />is hereby requested to establish a Local Air Pollution Control <br />District to include the Cities of Chesapeake, HeaMpton, Newport News, <br />Norfolk, Portsmo~uth~ Suffolk and Virginia Beach and the Counties of <br />Nansemond and York. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held August 22, 1967. <br /> <br /> Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
