~_0L~ _U~ION TO PROVIDE FOR THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE~ <br /> OF P~OUTH UNDER EMINENT DO~<~IN PROc~:~;I~INGS PURSUANT TO CHAP_ <br /> 229 OF ~qE AC~S OF ASSEMBLY OE 1966, SAID - PROPERTY' BEING NECESSARY <br /> THE CONSTRUCTION, WIDENING AND IMPHOVEMEk~ OF STATE HIGHWAy ROUIE <br /> FRQM THE I~fERSECTION OF AIRLINE BOULEVARD AND HIGH STREET TO THE <br />~Eo-i'iON OF LONDON AND ~'~'i~(~I~ STPe~iS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in cooperation with the Federal and State govern- <br /> ments, State Highway Route 58 is being constrUcted, widened and improved <br /> from the intersection of Airline Boulevard and High Street to the inter- <br /> section of London and Effingham Streets' in the City of Portamouth, Virginia; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, one of the obligations 'of. the City of Portsmcuth <br /> with respect to said project is the pr~visioh of. the land hecessary for <br /> the constrUction; and ' <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Porusmouth has found it to be necessary <br /> to acquire the interest heneinaf~er specified in and to the hereinafter <br /> described parcels of land situate in the City of Portsmcuth, Virgi~, <br /> for the purpose of constrUcting, widening and improving the aforesaid <br /> State Highwsy Route 58; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has not been able to purchase <br />the property described herein, necessary to the project, because the own- <br />ers thereof and the City have not been able to agree upon the~ price to be <br />paid therefor, or the City has not been able to locate certain of the own- <br />ers or because of the status of the title of certain parcels of the property; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, advancement of the work and use of said State HiEhway <br />Route 58 will be delayed.unreasonably if the. said property is not made <br />available as soon as possible. <br /> <br /> <br />
