~ ' A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE VIRGINIA <br /> ALCOHOLIC-BEVERAGE CONTROL BOARD <br /> TO DESIuNA~E A DIFFERENT STORE IN <br /> PORTSMCUTH TO I~INTAIN LATE HOURS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Store No. 237 currently ~aintains <br />late hours for the sale of beverages; and <br />' '- WHEREAS, the m~rchants of the Town and <br />Country Shopping Center ~re being adversely affected <br />in their night time sale~ due t° the limit~ ~mou~t <br />of par~kng ~t the shopping center and the nmgn vo±ume <br />of traffic ~o the said s~ore; and ' <br /> WHEREAS, the c~tY- is concerned about· the <br /> adverse effect that this situation may have upon the <br /> local economy; and <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, the City is not opposed to the late <br /> st&res as <br /> ~peration of A. B.C. such. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE~ be it resolved by the Council <br /> of the City of Portsm0ut~, Virginia, that it hereby <br /> requests the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Board to <br /> return Store No. 2~7 to the normal hours of ooeration_ and <br /> to designate another store, such as Store No. 256, to <br /> maintain late hours for cmsto~er service. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER resolved that the City Clerk for- <br /> ward a copy of this reso~uti6~ to the Virginia Alcoholic <br /> Beverage Control B6ard.. <br /> <br /> Adopted by thel Council of the City of Ports- <br /> mouth, Virginia, at a me~ting held on December 1~ 1970. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
